RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships are at the core of our lives. We need love and connection to flourish and belong. The people close to us are the witnesses of our lives and add value to it.

Many people find it hard to maintain healthy relationships. These include familial bonds, romantic partnerships and professional interactions. It takes time, effort,  flexibility and skill to keep our relationships alive and meaningful.

The following aspects are the cornerstones of a healthy (romantic) relationship:  communication, commitment, emotional intimacy, physical intimacy, respect and trust.

Consider the following questions when you reflect on the important relationships in your life:

  • Do you and your partner, friend, or colleague communicate effectively?
  • Are you willing to work through challenges in your relationships?
  • Do you feel free to share your emotions and needs?
  • Are you and your husband, wife, boyfriend or girlfriend open to discussing the physical intimacy in your relationship?
  • Do you feel respected by your romantic partner and/or friend(s)? Do you value théír opinions, feelings and boundaries?
  • Feeling safe and secure in your relationship(s) is crucial. Do you trust your significant other with your well-being?
